Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has revealed that a key member of his defensive ranks suffered a fitness blow during the club’s most recent outing.
Barca of course marked their return to action this past Wednesday, welcoming Getafe to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a hard-fought 1-0 result, to maintain their spot atop the Spanish top-flight table.
On an otherwise positive night’s work for Flick’s men, though, one source of concern was also forthcoming, on the personnel front.
As much was confirmed by Barcelona’s headmaster himself on Friday afternoon.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of his side’s meeting with Osasuna on Saturday night, Flick was asked for an update on the wellbeing of his squad.
And the German went on to reveal that Iñigo Martínez is still recovering from a ‘knock’ suffered in midweek:
”Iñigo took a knock the other day, but we hope to have him fit tomorrow.”
