This, of course, comes ahead of Barcelona’s return to action on the continent on Wednesday night.
The Blaugrana are primed to see out their schedule in the newly-formatted league phase in the Champions League in a meeting with Serie A high-flyers Atalanta.
As things stand, Hansi Flick’s troops sit 2nd in the Champions League table, having thoroughly impressed in European competition to the tune of six wins from seven outings.
On the other hand, in La Liga, Barca find themselves a full seven points adrift of table-topping Real Madrid at present.
In turn, it may come as something of a surprise to learn that boss Flick nevertheless considers the league to be his main area of focus when it comes to silverware.
Speaking in his latest pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Barcelona’s headmaster explained:
“The league is the most important thing to win. Over a whole season you will see what happens. Of course, there are other competitions like the Super Cup and the Champions League. But the league is the most difficult competition to win.”
