Hansi Flick already communicating with La Masia talents about pre-season plans | OneFootball

After leading Barcelona to a successful campaign, Hansi Flick will be gearing up for a gruelling pre-season campaign this coming summer.

Although the season has just gotten over, the German has already started laying the groundwork for the pre-season campaign, notably meeting with several La Masia players.

Flick speaks to La Masia players about pre-season plans

According to SPORT, one of the key changes that will take place in Flick’s pre-season campaign this summer is that earning a place in the senior team will become a lot tougher compared to last year.

Even so, Flick has already begun communicating with some La Masia talents, letting them know they will be part of the pre-season setup.

Last summer, due to the Euros, Copa America, and Olympic Games, many first-team players were unavailable in the early stages.

As a result, Flick had to rely heavily on Barça B and youth players to fill up the pre-season squad. But the picture is quite different this year.

Most players are expected to be available right from the start, with medicals scheduled for July 13 and the first training session set for the following day at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Only those involved in the U-21 Euros will be exceptions.

But there will be some players from the youth ranks who will be involved in the pre-season, with Flick already notifying some about the same.

Jofre Torrents, for one, is expected to be a part of this setup. The young full-back will be given a chance to prove himself during the pre-season as the club want him to earn a place in the first team and compete with Gerard Martin.

Other players like Toni Fernandez and Guille Fernandez could also be involved like last summer.

Keeping all these factors in mind, it will be interesting to see how Flick approaches the pre-season campaign and whether or not he will find yet another hidden gem from La Masia this time around.
