6-0 friendly win against FK Bodö-Glimt

We finished our training camps in Marbella with a superb 6-0 win in a friendly against Norwegian champions and UEFA Europa Conference League participants FC Bodö-Glimt. The goals from our boys were scored by Fernando, Petar Ratkov (x2), Roko Simic, Andreas Ulmer and Adam Daghim.

MATCH SUMMARY

Our second and final friendly match of the training camp had an unexpected backdrop with torrential rain and spells of sun making for typical April weather in Southern Spain in January. The result was a difficult and heavy pitch as the game kicked off.

The playing surface did improve as the game went on, but it was still a little slippery in the seventh minute when Fernando made it 1-0 for our Red Bulls. He converted from short range after some good pressing to give us the lead. Fernando and Amar Dedic both had opportunities for a second as the first half went on.

The rain lashed it down at half-time, making passing and shooting more difficult for the four players who stayed on the field and the seven who were introduced at the break. Petar Ratkov was untroubled - netting from short range to make it 2-0 (58'), before slotting in from distance a minute later for 3-0. There was more pleasing news in the shape of the comeback from Aleksa Terzic, who was brought on for Mads Bidstrup in the 70th minute.

The next moment of note fell to Roko Simic, who converted after a pass from youngster Adam Daghim to make it 4-0 (76'). Andreas Ulmer then added another highlight moments later. Our captain cleared the danger in his own area then popped up in the opposition box to slot into the bottom corner for 5-0.

Just as spectacular was the goal that made it 6-0 at full-time when Adam Daghim breezed past a defender and fired into the top corner to cap our win against the Norwegian side still in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

VIEWS

I am very pleased with our win today. In general, we had a really good training camp, and we took some good steps in our development - as you could clearly see today. There was a lot of our typical style of play. Each of our players put so much into it from the first minute to the last, and we deservedly won.

Gerhard Struber

We can be really pleased with the way the boys went about the game today. We saw a lot what we want to see. The entire training camp was important for us. You get to spend a lot of time together, and the team grows together. We also worked very hard on the match. We took important steps, and the 6-0 win against the Norwegian champions was a great way to end the camp.
