FC Bayern would like to extend Niklas Süle’s expiring contract. The Munich club has made an offer to the 26-year-old, but the central defender is still hesitating. According to President Herbert Hainer, the Bavarians will not wait forever for a response from the defender.
Süle’s contract with the record champion expires in just under five months. Whether and how the German international will continue at FCB is currently completely open. According to reports, the central defender is flirting with a move to the English Premier League.
However, a stay at the FCB is still possible. According to consistent media reports, the contract talks between Süle and Bayern are anything but simple.
In view of the latest statements by President Herbert Hainer, it is questionable whether Bayern even want to return to the negotiating table again. The 67-year-old stressed that Süle already has a corresponding offer on the table. At the same time, Hainer revealed that the defender may not take too long: “We have made Niklas Süle an offer. Now it is up to him to accept or reject it. Of course, it has to be within a certain period of time, because then we have to position ourselves accordingly,” he revealed to “Sky”.
According to Hainer, there is no specific date, but the club expects an answer in the “foreseeable future”.
The current scenario is very reminiscent of the one with David Alaba in autumn 2020, when Bayern also made the player an offer and gave him a certain amount of time to accept it. After the first deadline had passed, Bayern withdrew its offer. Alaba moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
