Anis Hadj Moussa signed a contract extension with Feyenoord this week. With the 23-year-old’s new deal running to the summer of 2030, the winger wants to confirm his qualities next season.
This window, Hadj Moussa’s name was shortlisted at Benfica, but the Algerian gave his word to Feyenoord, with Rob van Persie playing a big part in proceedings.
“I’ve spoken with the manager a lot, and he convinced me. He told me what he plans for me and the team. That he’s asking a lot of me. I’m just happy about that.”
Hadj Moussa is on the eve of his second season at De Kuip. Things are moving quickly for the creative wide man. “It’s like magic. I feel like I just closed my eyes; I open them again, and now I’m here. That’s also due, of course, to all the hard work and time we put in. If someone had asked me if I would make the move again, I would do it all over again.”
“In the beginning, people said I didn’t defend much, that I was careless,” Hadj Moussa continued. “But that’s not the case at all; that’s not me at all. People tend to forget that this was my first year with a lot of matches, whether it’s the Champions League or the Eredivisie. I think it was a good season, but some things could be better. This year, I’m going to give even more.”
