The English striker has found it difficult to get going for Tottenham Hotspur this season. The 28-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester City that was eventually blocked by Spurs. The Citizens have been playing without an out-and-out striker and Kane was touted as the perfect replacement.
The England international finally managed to get his first goal of the Premier League campaign on Sunday in an exhilarating 3-2 victory against Newcastle United. The 28-year-old striker has been a dependable asset for the Lilywhites so far having. He has scored 228 goals and provided 50 assists in 347 matches across all competitions in his time with the North London club.

The former Manchester City defender spoke about Harry Kane’s abilities and how he could be the perfect fit for the Citizens:
“I don’t know what he’s doing, but if Harry Kane’s watching this game, he’s thinking, I’d have had a hat-trick by now. There’s been four or five balls put across the six-yard box where there’s been nobody in there.”
He has been a talismanic striker in the last few seasons but has found it difficult to emulate the same form at the start of this campaign. It is believed that the Citizens were huge admirers of Kane and wanted to bring him to the Etihad Stadium but the deal fell through.

With the January transfer window fast approaching it will be interesting to see if the defending Premier League Champions make a move for the Spurs striker or set their sights in another direction to fill the role of a clinical striker.
