Manchester City will clash heads with Everton at Goodison Park this Wednesday night as they look to earn a victory away from home in the Premier League. The Mancunian side managed to earn a 4-0 win over Fluminense in the FIFA Club World Cup final recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.

Pep Guardiola will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make one tweak to his first XI for this clash. Josko Gvardiol will get a chance to make an impact from the start of this game while Rico Lewis makes way for him and drops to the bench.

Defence

Ederson will feature in between the sticks for Man City after securing a clean sheet in his last outing. Ruben Dias will function alongside Nathan Ake at the heart of Man City’s defence as they try to keep the opposition at bay during the game.

Kyle Walker will get the nod to play at right-back while Josko Gvardiol hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Guardiola will ask both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Rico Lewis and Manuel Akanji will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

John Stones and Rodri will operate as the holding midfielders as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva will function just ahead of them as part of Man City’s attack.

Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes will have to settle for a place on Guardiola’s bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Julian Alvarez will once again lead the line for the Mancunian giants in the final third. The Argentine striker managed to score a brace versus Fluminense which should give him a ton of confidence ahead of this trip to Goodison Park.

Erling Haaland is unlikely to recover in time for this game. However, Micah Hamilton will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the final quarter of the contest if needed.
