Manchester City will welcome Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday afternoon as they hope to secure a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Mancunian giants managed to earn an impressive 3-1 victory over Crvena Zvezda in the UEFA Champions League recently which will give them a lot of confidence going into this game.

Pep Guardiola will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this clash. Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku will get a chance to play from the start of this game versus Nottingham.

Ederson will feature in between the sticks for Man City after shipping in one goal in his last outing. Nathan Ake will get a chance to impress alongside Ruben Dias at the centre of Guardiola’s defence as they focus on keeping things solid at the back throughout the game.

Kyle Walker will be a nailed-on starter as the right-back while Josko Gvardiol looks to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the Nottingham half so that they can offer adequate support to their teammates up top.

Manuel Akanji will be named on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.

Midfield

Matheus Nunes, Rodri and Julian Alvarez will make up Man City’s midfield as they try to establish their dominance at the centre of the park.

Alvarez scored a brace in midweek and would be full of confidence ahead of this clash at the Etihad.

Kalvin Phillips and Oscar Bobb will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Jeremy Doku will operate as the left-sided wide player while Phil Foden hopes to catch the eye as the right-winger.

Erling Haaland will once again lead the line for Man City on the attacking end of the field. The Norway international would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet after failing to do so in the UEFA Champions League earlier this week.
