Chelsea will face off against Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium this Wednesday night as they try to secure a win on their travels in the Premier League. The Blues managed to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win away at Nottingham Forest recently which should give them a ton of confidence going into this game versus the Seagulls in midweek.

Mauricio Pochettino will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his first XI for this game. Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling could all get an opportunity to make an impact from the start of this contest.

Defence

Dorde Petrovic will operate in goal for Chelsea after shipping in a couple of goals in his last league appearance. Axel Disasi will function alongside Benoit Badiashile at the centre of the West London club’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.

Malo Gusto will try to catch the eye as the right-back while Marc Cucurella hopes to put in a good showing on the other side as the left-back. Pochettino will ask both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Reece James and Levi Colwill will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Conor Gallagher will anchor the midfield along with Moises Caicedo as they try to make life tough for the home team at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Raheem Sterling, Cole Palmer and Mykhailo Muydrk will operate just ahead of them as part of the Chelsea attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Blues are to come out on top at the Amex this week.

Noni Madueke will be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to impress in the second half if needed.

Nicolas Jackson will spearhead Pochettino’s attack on his own up top. He has to find a way to threaten the Brighton goal this Wednesday night.

Christopher Nkunku will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if required.
