Gustagol was very successful playing under Rogerio Ceni at Fortaleza in 2018 and has admitted he would return to Brazil if Flamengo called him.

The 27-year-old, who is currently playing for South Korea’s Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, knows that his chances of a Flamengo call-up are slim-to-none yet has issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to the Rubro-Negro anyway.

“Of course, there is not much to think about (if he would return to Brazil to play for Flamengo if Ceni called).

“Players are remembered by their titles and Flamengo has a very good team, an excellent coach, and high-level players.

“If they continue like this, they will continue to win many titles.

“I know this is not going to happen because both their strikers are fantastic. They are two guys with different characteristics and very good.

“Gabigol, a nine with a lot of movement, and Pedro, who is more of a clean-up guy in the box. For Rogério’s happiness, the two are living in a great moment.”

The trio of Gabriel Barbosa, Rodrigo Muniz, and Pedro have combined to score 16 goals this season, with seven from Gabigol, five from Muniz, and four from Pedro.
