Milan legend Ruud Gullit believes Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee would be a good fit with his old club, although there is competition from Arsenal.
The striker impressed at Bologna this season with 12 goals and seven assists in 37 competitive games, helping them earn Champions League qualification.
He has a €40m release clause in his contract, plus commission to his agents believed to be around €12m, with the Rossoneri in negotiations.
“I like Zirkzee, I’ve known him since he was playing for the Under-17 team with my son,” Dutch hero Gullit told Sky Sport Italia.
“He is a striker with a real nose for goal, he always finds himself in the right place at the right time. He would be a good signing for Milan.”
Gullit is still keeping a close eye on his former club with hope for the future, where they are expected to hire coach Paulo Fonseca.
“Other teams are strong too, like Inter, while Juventus are coming back and Roma are good as well. Milan cannot be as dominant as they were before.”
Among his teammates in the Grande Milan under Arrigo Sacchi was Carlo Ancelotti, who has gone on to become one of the most successful coaches in the world.
He could win the Champions League for a record fifth time tomorrow when Real Madrid take on Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium.
“Ancelotti knows football, both on a tactical level and in terms of mentality. He knows how to use players and how to treat them, as well as being a great person,” concluded Gullit.
