Over the weekend, Guillermo Ochoa received recognition from Club América for having achieved a record of 400 games playing in the azulcrema shirt.

Of course, he also made headlines for turning in his fourth consecutive clean sheet, which is all the more impressive considering he currently has a streak of five consecutive clean sheets in a Mexico uniform as well.

Ochoa has went from being a potential cut candidate to one of América’s most important players in just a handful of matches, which has reportedly convinced the board to hand the 36-year-old a contract extension.

According to journalist Jonatan Peña, Memo Ochoa is certain to stay at the club after his contract ends in December, with the Mexican legend set to receive at least a two-year deal.

Ochoa will reportedly sign his new deal before Qatar 2022.
