América captain Guillermo Ochoa is reportedly eager to sort out his future before travelling to the World Cup with Mexico next month.

The 37-year-old goalkeeper shows no sign of regression after helping the Azulcrema finish top of the regular season Apertura table.

According to ESPN, both the player and club are interested in reaching agreement to have ‘Memo’ extend his second stint with Las Águilas.

As it stands, the former Standard Liège stopper will be a free agent once his current contract expires at the end of the year.

While an impressive tournament in Qatar could put him in the shop window for a return to Europe, Ochoa’s preference is understood to be to remain at the Estadio Azteca where he a firm fan favourite.

Talks are apparently ongoing between the two parties, and it is expected they will be able to come to a financial arrangement on a deal that could last between 18 months and two years.
