Club América goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa is close to agreeing a new deal with the Mexican side.
Ochoa rejoined Los Azul-Cremas in 2019 (having previously departed from the club in 2011) and according to his manager Fernando Ortiz, a deal to extend the 36-year-olds tenure in goal is close.
“I know the same [as is being reported], he is close to renewing with the club, this Friday we have a day off, and then we meet again, now with Néstor [Araujo] and Henry [Martín],” he said.
“I’m counting on Guillermo, but he’s currently in the process of negotiating his new deal and therefore we have to give him some time.
“However, there is a limit to the time we can afford him as I have to make sure I have a Plan B if Memo doesn’t find an agreement.”
América return to competitive action on Monday when they face Toluca in the Copa por México.
