The El Tri number one, who has already appeared at four World Cups by the age of 33, dreams of making it to a fifth.
The Standard Liege goalkeeper is in fine form and believes he is capable of taking part in Qatar in 2022.
“I’m going to make it difficult for those who come back, my dream is to be in the next World Cup and play it,” he told Goal.
Mexico are still without a permanent manager, with Ricardo Ferretti acting as interim, though Ochoa believes they are capable of building a successful team for the next tournament.
“Hopefully we will soon have the trainer fixed and from there see what happens for the future, because with the people who are in Europe, plus the ones in Mexico, you can build a good team and process from here to the next World Cup,” he said.
