Marc Guehi scored a superb goal as Crystal Palace enjoyed a comfortable win away to Aston Villa.

The visitors were always the better of the two teams and took the lead in the 21st minute from the penalty spot.

Daichi Kamada was played through and taken down as he tried to get past goalkeeper Marco Bizot. Jean-Philippe Mateta took the resulting penalty and buried his effort in the left corner with Bizot diving the wrong way.

It was a deserved lead for Oliver Glasner's team and one that was doubled by a player who may well have been playing his last game for the club.

This was hardly the kind of goal you expect from a centre-back. Marc Guehi picked up the ball and put in a curling effort that Bizot couldn't reach. The England international is likely to join Liverpool after this but if that was his final game in a Palace shirt then the goal was quite a leaving present to his side.

The win was wrapped up in the 78th minute, after a long throw was headed on by Maxence Lacroix with Ismaila Sarr rising highest to make it 3-0 to the Eagles.

It was a poor performance from Villa who are now the only team in the top four tiers yet to score in the league this season.

The Villans sit 19th in the table going into the international break while Crystal Palace move ahead of Manchester United in eighth position with five points from their first three games.
