Guatemala and El Salvador face off for first place in Group A

MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship continues with the second matchday in Group A on Wednesday at the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Facility in Nassau, Bahamas.
The opening matchday provided a three-point start for El Salvador and Guatemala, setting up a match for first place to begin Wednesday’s slate. Costa Rica and Mexico meet for their first set of points in the group’s other match of the day.
The two best teams in each group will progress to the semifinals. The two finalists in the tournament will qualify for the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Guatemala vs. El Salvador
Guatemala and El Salvador meet with first place on the line in Group A.
La Selecta rose to the early lead with a 6-1 win against Costa Rica. Andersson Castro, Emerson Cerna collected braces, while Jason Urbina and Melvin González added one goal each in the victory.
Guatemala earned a 4-3 win against Mexico to begin its campaign with three points. The goals for Los Chapines came from Samuel Pérez, Pablo Crocker, and a brace from José Lem.
Costa Rica vs. Mexico
Guatemala won 4-3 against Mexico to begin second in Group A on the opening matchday.
Jesús Valencia struck the lone goal for Costa Rica in its defeat to El Salvador. Ramón Maldonado struck twice, and Héctor Acevedo scored one himself as Mexico fell by the minimal difference to Guatemala.
