Pep Guardiola has been crowned the 2023/24 Premier League Manager of the Season.

The Catalan made yet more history with City as he led the Club to a record fourth successive title and his sixth since moving to Manchester in 2016.

It’s the first time in the history of English football any men’s side has won the top-flight four years in a row.

His haul of six titles is the joint-second most amongst all coaches in the storied history of the English game.

This latest Premier League victory is his 17th major trophy at City and his 38th in total in 15 seasons as a manager.

He has now won the Manager of the Season award in five of the eight seasons he has been in charge at the Etihad Stadium.

Our boss also received the honour after title-winning campaigns in 2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21 and 2022/23.

This time around City won our last nine matches and went unbeaten for the final 23 games of the season to hold off the fierce challenge of both Arsenal and Liverpool.

A 3-1 final day defeat of West Ham ensured we finished two points ahead of Mikel Arteta’s challengers and lifted the trophy once more in front of our fans.

Finishing on 91 points, we have now surpassed the 90-point mark four times under Guardiola. That is more than any Club has managed throughout the entire Premier League era.

In total, Guardiola has won 225 of his 304 Premier League matches at City – 29 more than the next most successful side over that period.

Upon receiving the prize, Guardiola said: “It’s an honour to have been chosen by the Premier League as the Manager of the Season.

“This award reflects the hard work and excellence of the people at the Club in all departments.

“I am so proud to be manager of this group of players and to work alongside the brilliant coaches and support staff every day.

“Winning four titles in a row is one of the proudest achievements of my career. This is the toughest league in the world and our competitors have played some incredible football.

“When I arrived in England, I would never have thought that together we could win six Premier Leagues in seven years.

“We have done something unbelievable and to celebrate that with our fans last Sunday was a day I will always remember.”

Director of Football Txiki Begiristain added: “Everyone at City is delighted for Pep and this latest recognition of his achievements.

“As Pep is always quick to point out, our history making success is a team effort and would not be possible without the tireless work of our players, coaches and backroom staff.

“However, Pep’s inspirational leadership and drive to succeed has made us a beautiful team to watch and seen us once again come out on top in the toughest league in the world.

“He has taken the Club to the summit of the game and everyone connected with Manchester City should be very proud that he represents us.”

Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp were also shortlisted for this year’s award.

Only Sir Alex Ferguson (11) has won the award more times than our boss.

Everyone at Manchester City would like to congratulate Pep for his well-deserved honour.
