Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Omar Marmoush will be included in the Manchester City squad to face Chelsea this weekend.

City completed the £59m signing of the forward from Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday and he is available to take on Chelsea at the Etihad tomorrow evening.

The 25-year-old arrives after a spectacular start to the season in Germany. Marmoush has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions. The Egyptian international’s arrival has caused huge excitement in Manchester and Guardiola has confirmed Marmoush is likely to debut against Chelsea.

Fellow January signings Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis are also available for selection.

“Vitor is young, he has a huge personality, needs time. If he’s here with us, of course he can start,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference.

“Khusanov has already settled for the fact that he played in the French league, handling tough, quick, fast players. But he doesn’t speak much English so communication will be one of the situations that we have to deal with.

“Marmoush, I think he will adapt quick.

“They will make us strong and I’m pretty sure that the club decided for this prospective players for the future and many years.”

City sit fifth in the Premier League table, two points behind their fourth-placed opponents. It’s the start of a big week for City, who also face a must-win clash with Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“Really important. We are very close in the table even even with the big big problems we had in the recent past.

“The next two games [against Chelsea and Club Brugge in the UCL] are really really important, finals with us. Our people will support us.

“I think I recognised his [Maresca] team from day one, even when we played them in the summer camp in the States. Many things I started to see that we spoke about many, many times in the last years together. Really good.”
