Grimsby Town are top of League Two following the first round of games for the 2025/26 season.

The Mariners defeated Crawley Town 3-0 at home with Jaze Kabia opening the scoring from the spot early on before Cameron McJannett and Evan Khouri both got on the scoresheet.

Crawley were one of the two teams that dropped from League One last season to lose on opening day with Bristol Rovers suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to Harrogate Town. Meanwhile, Cambridge United defeated Cheltenham Town 1-0 and Shrewsbury Town's game against Bromley ended goalless.

Of the teams who were promoted from the National League, Oldham Athletic earned a point after drawing 0-0 away to MK Dons while Barnet were defeated 2-0 at home to Fleetwood Town.
