Grifo extends Freiburg contract | OneFootball

Long-serving SC Freiburg winger Vincenzo Grifo has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract.

Freiburg confirmed the extension on Wednesday but kept the length of the new deal undisclosed.

“There’s no end in sight with Vince,” said SC sporting director Klemens Hartenbach.

“He leads on and off the pitch, is in top shape, and has once again added new dimensions to his game this year. It’s not just his stats that matter - he radiates calmness and confidence that’s contagious and hugely beneficial to his teammates. That’s how it should continue for the years ahead.”

Grifo, 32, added:

“When I came here in 2015, none of this was foreseeable. Now this is my home. I’ve left my heart in Freiburg and played 307 competitive matches for the club.

"I’m doing really well here - both professionally and personally. I want to keep going, play as many games as possible, help the younger players, and continue to develop myself.”

The veteran winger has racked up 94 goals and 88 assists in 307 appearances for Freiburg.
