The left-back, who is now 34, is currently with Besiktas having joined the Turkish giants in 2016.
Gremio and Santos have both been linked with an interest with view to signing him on a pre-contract next summer.
A transfer this month could be an option, though the Gremio board will reportedly only make a move should Besiktas agree to terminate his contract.
Starting his career with his Brazilian club Coritiba, where he was born, Adriano soon made the move to Europe.
Joining Sevilla in 2005, the later spent six years with Barcelona where he won four LaLiga titles and lifted the Champions League trophy twice.
