Gregoire Defrel ready to spurn Cagliari and Sassuolo in favor of Sampdoria return

Gregoire Defrel wants to return to Sampdoria. Alfredo Pedulla reports that the Frenchman has chosen to return to the Genova-based side after having spent last season there on loan. Cagliari and Sassuolo have expressed their interest for the player this summer, however, he was contacted by ex-Roma and current Samp boss Eusebio Di Francesco, who convinced him to rejoin the Blucerchiati. The operation could close on the basis of a loan with an obligation to buy for a figure just below €15 million.
