Greg Taylor rewarded with new 4 year Celtic contract | OneFootball

Celtic have this afternoon confirmed that left back Birthday Bhoy Greg Taylor has signed an new deal that will keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2025.

Taylor turns 24 today and what better way to celebrate a birthday that sorting out a new contract with a pay rise and the security of four more years at Scotland leading and financially stable football club?

Taylor, who signed from Kilmarnock in September 2019, made his debut against St Mirren shortly afterwards. In total he has made 60 appearances for Celtic and has scored one goal (against KR Reykjavik) while he has a Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup winners medal to show for his efforts to date, along with six Scotland caps.

While it is fair to say that Greg Taylor isn’t everyone’s cup of team then man that matters most, Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou rates him highly.

Speaking to the club’s official website Postecoglou said: “I am delighted that Greg has extended his contract with the Club. He has had an excellent start to the season and has made a really valuable contribution to the team.

“Unfortunately he has suffered the injury in recent weeks, but our focus and his, is now to get him back in the squad as soon as possible, have him pick up where he left off and playing at that same high level.

“I am really pleased he has committed his future to Celtic and I am sure he will be an important player for us over the next few years.”
