Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos has stated that Celtic cult hero Giorgos Samaras played a role in bringing Luis Palma to the club.

Taking to Twitter/X, Chorianopoulos shared a story from Sportime.gr with the tagline that Sammy was involved in the deal.

Samaras left the club in 2014, having played 249 games, scoring 74 times. In his time at the club, he won four league titles, two Scottish cups and one League Cup.
