Everton will face Chelsea as they travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday, hoping for a better result this weekend. The Toffees recorded a 1-0 victory over Brentford in their last outing, so they will be hoping to give out a better performance this weekend.

Sean Dyche will probably opt for a 4-5-1 formation and is expected to name the same starting XI for this home encounter as Demarai Gray leads the line down the middle while Jordan Pickford continues in goal.

Defence

Jordan Pickford will continue to feature between the sticks for the Toffees, hoping to keep a clean sheet again in this away encounter. James Tarkowski will form the centre-half partnership with Michael Keane at the heart of Everton’s backline as they focus on keeping things tidy at the back throughout the game.

Seamus Coleman will try to put in a tireless display at the right-back position while Benjamin Godfrey continues as the left-back. Both of them will have to defend their penalty box well to stop the opposition attackers from creating too many chances inside their halves.

Conor Coady and Mason Holgate will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure will anchor the midfield as they look to dominate possession in the central areas. All three of them will need to protect their backline away from home.

Dwight McNeil will keep his place on the left flank while Alex Iwobi looks to catch the eye as the right-sided wide player.

Tom Davies will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if needed.

Attack

Demarai Gray will spearhead Dyche’s attack on his own up top. He will have to find a way to cause a few headaches for the Chelsea defenders in the final third.

As mentioned earlier, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to return in time for this game as he is still recovering from a thigh problem, but Neal Maupay should take a spot on the bench, waiting for his chance to shine in the second half.
