After Arsenal’s draw with Leeds United over the weekend, Kieran Tierney took issue with Leeds man Ezgjan Alioski. The 28-year-old incited the incident that saw Nicolas Pepe receive a red card, even if it was the Arsenal winger’s fault for taking the bait.

As Tierney went to confront Alioski after full-time, Granit Xhaka held the Scottish international off, keeping the pair apart. Arsenal fans love to read into every little moment, so some suggested Xhaka was taking Alioski’s side against Tierney.

Xhaka denies there are any problems between him and the left-back though. He posted on Instagram that they’re in the “left foot union”, adding “no problems here”.

It’s another fuss over nothing. It was nice to see Tierney not lying down and accepting a disappointing result, but it was also smart of Xhaka to ensure it didn’t lead to an incident that could’ve earned the defender a ban.

Arsenal are already losing Nicolas Pepe for the next three league games, they don’t need Tierney joining him on the sidelines. As long as the two are still getting along well now, there’s nothing left to talk about.
