Granit Xhaka leads list as Milan dream of new midfield | OneFootball

Milan are dreaming of a new midfield. Given their disappointing season, they want a rebuild. The first steps have already been taken with a deal reportedly agreed with Luka Modric. Next to the Croatian magician, they are looking to add some steel. New manager Massimiliano Allegri wanted Marseille’s Adrien Rabiot but it doesn’t look like that will happen.

Sporting director Igli Tare has three targets now. The first name on the list is Granit Xhaka of Bayer Leverkusen. The Swiss international is very experienced and will add some physicality and leadership alongside Modric. Talks are ongoing as per Gazzetta.it, but a deal could be difficult given Xhaka’s long contract.

Milan are looking at other players too. Club Brugge’s Ardon Jashari who many in Switzerland have deemed ‘the next Xhaka’ is an option too. Milan have also scouted Javi Guerra, the 22 year old Valencia midfielder who has also been linked to Atletico Madrid.
