Granit Xhaka insists he’s happy at Arsenal, and he doesn’t know of any plans to move him on this summer.

Xhaka captained Switzerland in the Nations League playoffs last week, though the end result was the disappointment of losing to England on penalties, even though the Arsenal man scored his.

Afterwards, the midfielder spoke to the media about his future. Xhaka has been linked with a move to Inter Milan recently, but he insists he hasn’t heard about any planned move away from Arsenal.

“Not that I know of,” he responded when asked about a summer exit. “I have another four years on my contract, I only signed last year. I’m happy there, my family too. That’s the most important thing.”

The 26-year-old then went on to say that “it would certainly be the dot on the i” to have the chance to be Arsenal’s first-choice captain.

Though Xhaka is already currently one of the five captains at the club, Petr Cech is retiring, Aaron Ramsey is leaving, and Mesut Özil and Laurent Koscielny both have big question marks surrounding their future at Arsenal.

The Swiss international could end up taking the first-choice role by default if the other two move on this summer or the next.

Perhaps Xhaka is just playing dumb for the cameras, as he doesn’t want to stir things up by talking about a transfer publically. Until we get any more reliable sources confirming a move, however, we’ll just have to take the Arsenal man at his word.
