Dion Dublin has tipped Norwich City to do well in the play-offs.

The Canaries have yet to confirm their place inside the top six, but are in a good position to make it into the promotion shootout.

David Wagner’s side has enjoyed a positive second half of the campaign after a difficult start.

The German was under intense pressure from supporters to turn around their results after the team slipped into the bottom half of the table in the early stages of the season.

But the Norfolk outfit now looks poised to secure a chance at Premier League promotion thanks to a run of five wins in their last seven games.

Dublin believes that Norwich have a chance of earning promotion to the Premier League in the play-offs, tipping them to perform well in the post-season.

He has praised the work of the owners at Carrow Road, expressing his fondness for his time there as a player.

“I definitely give Norwich a chance in the playoffs, they are a great football club,” said Dublin.

“I started at Norwich and played for eight clubs and they came back and finished with them.

“I've got a lot of time for Delia [Smith] and Michael [Wynn-Jones], who have carried the football club for years financially, so you have to tip your hat to them.

“They are the hub of the community, like most football clubs are but Norwich in particular.

“They live for it.”

Dublin started in the academy system at Norwich before earning his senior breakthrough at Cambridge United in 1988.

He returned to the Canaries in 2006, finishing his career with the club, making 70 appearances before retiring in 2008.

The former England international has moved into a career in broadcasting, but clearly still hold a place in his heart for the club where he finished his playing days.

Norwich City league position

Norwich sit sixth in the Championship table, six points clear of Hull City in seventh.

The Tigers hold a game in hand on their play-off rivals, but will still need a slip-up from Wagner’s team in order to overtake them in the standings.

Norwich’s fate is in their own hands going into the final three games of the regular season.

The Norfolk side take on Bristol City, Swansea City and Birmingham City in their remaining fixtures.

Seven points from those three games will be enough to secure a play-off place.

Norwich hitting form at the right time

Norwich are playing the best football of their season at the moment, with the team peaking at just the right time.

If they can carry this form into the next few weeks then they will fancy taking on any team in the division in the play-offs.

The prospect of a face-off with rivals Ipswich Town will be very enticing for supporters, but the Tractor Boys could also still earn automatic promotion to the Premier League.

That win over Ipswich earlier this month should give Wagner’s side the confidence that they can compete in the play-offs, and that a place in the top flight is achievable this season.
