Gordon Gets 8.5, Joelinton With 7.5 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Impressive Win Vs Chelsea | OneFootball

Newcastle United welcomed Chelsea at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to earn a victory at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a decent start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 13th minute when Alexander Isak found the back of the net. However, Raheem Sterling equalised for the visitors just ten minutes later with an excellent free-kick. Eddie Howe’s men went into the half-time interval with a 1-1 scoreline.

Jamaal Lascelles gave Newcastle the lead in the 60th minute with a good header. Joelinton made it 3-1 to the Magpies just a minute later. Anthony Gordon ended up putting the icing on the cake for Eddie Howe’s side in the 83rd minute. The contest finished with the Tyneside giants securing an impressive 4-1 win in front of their home fans.

GK: Nick Pope – 6/10

The English keeper made a few solid saves at the back but couldn’t do much about Sterling’s freekick in the first half.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 7.5/10

He did his fair share of defending and made two key chances in the final third.

CB: Jamaal Lascelles – 7/10

Lascelles kept things solid at the back for most of the game and managed to score Newcastle’s second goal with a good header in the 60th minute.

CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10

He didn’t do much wrong when defending inside his half and was a good presence on the ball.

LB: Tino Livramento – 7/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch.

CM: Lewis Miley – 7/10

Miley made a positive start to the game and managed to bag an assist for setting up Isak’s opener.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7.5/10

The Brazilian talent got stuck in with some crunching tackles and made some promising runs with the ball from midfield.

CM: Joelinton – 7.5/10

He was not shy of making a tackle and managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 61st minute.

RW: Miguel Almiron – 7.5/10

Almiron worked his socks off in the opponent’s half and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

ST: Alexander Isak – 7/10

Isak made a good start to the game and scored the opening goal in the 13th minute.

LW: Anthony Gordon – 8.5/10

Gordon caused all sorts of problems for the Chelsea defenders and managed to score a fine goal late in the game.
