Former CSKA Moscow coach Viktor Goncharenko admits he recommended Fedor Smolov to Manchester United.

Goncharenko says he urged Jose Mourinho to sign Smolov for United.

He recalled: “Before the match with Manchester United, Mourinho comes up to me and starts asking in English: 'Listen, will Fedya Smolov come to our team?'

"And I answered him perfectly in my English.

"It seemed to me that he didn't understand a damn thing, but nodded his head. I said: 'Of course, he will do, take him'."
