The streets wonât forget Yaya TourĂ©âs 2013/14 season.
TourĂ© is one of most influential signings in Manchester Cityâs history and by 2013, he had already scored the winning goal in an FA Cup final and been a vital cog in the 2011/12 title winning season.
But the Ivorian scaled previously unimaginable heights in 2013/14 and he ended the campaign with an incredible 20 league goals and nine assists from central midfield.
It was one of the greatest individual seasons ever enjoyed by a Premier League midfielder â but it almost wasnât enough for City to clinch that yearâs title.
A 3-2 defeat at Anfield in April 2014 appeared to be the end of Cityâs title hopes but they were handed a lifeline by Steven Gerrardâs infamous slip, and it was one they grabbed with both hands.
TourĂ© bagged a goal and an assist in a win away at Crystal Palace to put matters back in Cityâs hands and another victory at Everton in their next game meant they needed just two more to secure the title.
Manuel Pellegriniâs side welcomed Aston Villa to the Etihad in the penultimate game of the season and after a nervy first half, a quick-fire Edin DĆŸeko brace put them on course for victory, before Stevan JovetiÄ made it 3-0 late on.
And then, in stoppage time, Touré picked up the ball inside his own half, and it was clear there was only one thing on his mind.
He set off down field like a runaway locomotive, making the Villa players chasing after him look like children trying in vain to tackle an over-exuberant adult in a lads vs dads match.
It was an incredible goal which perfectly encapsulated that perfect season for Touré.
What a year. What a player. What goal.
