Goiás star striker Michael officially joins Flamengo | OneFootball

Michael is officially the newest member of Flamengo.

On Friday, all involved in the attacker’s transaction agreed to final terms – Goiás, Flamengo, and the athlete’s agent.

Goiás announced his imminent departure on social media, while halfheartedly asking him to return in the future.

Flamengo will pay €7.5m (R$34.2m) for 80% of Michael’s economic rights. Michael is expected to be in Rio de Janeiro to undergo medical examinations and sign a four-year contract with the rubro-negro.

Michael was a revelation for the newly-promoted side last year, scoring nine goals in 35 league games to help Goiás achieve an unbelievable 10th-placed finish, missing out on Copa Libertadores qualification by a mere four points.

Michael is the fourth Flamengo reinforcement for 2020 after signing Náutico striker Thiago, Pedro Rocha from Spartak Moscow (year-long loan), as well as defender Gustavo Henrique from Santos.
