The president of Goiás, Marcelo Almeida, has revealed that he is preparing an official document to reject Corinthians’ offer of €5m for Michael, who won Brazil’s Young Player of the Year award.
After a nine-goal, five-assist season, a number of clubs around Brazil and Europe have inquired about the 23-year-old’s availability.
With all the interest, Almeida is adamant that Goiás will not sell the talented winger for less than his R$50m (€11m) domestic release clause.
“Goiás will not lower their price. It is the value of the release clause and he is ready. There is no discount, there is no Black Friday Michael.
“There will be no bargain. If someone wants to pay what we want to be paid, take him.”
It’s not believed that Corinthians are willing to meet their demands.
