The Liga MX All-Stars cruised past the MLS All-Stars in Columbus just two days before Leagues Cup 2024 plat kicks off.
Scorers: Hernández 18′ ; Berterame 16′, Idrissi 41′
There was an air of celebration around the stadium as the two teams kicked off for an evening of flicks, tricks, and goals.
It was the visitors who snatched the lead however, as Monterrey man Germán Berterame headed home from close range despite a fast start from the MLS All-Stars.
But the hosts responded immediately, and it was a familiar sight for the Columbus crowd as Crew teammates Diego Rossi and Cucho Hernández combined to level the score.
The fun continued as the time ticked by in the half, and it was the Liga MX All-Stars that put on the next display of quality when Oussama Idrissi capped off a training-ground routine from a corner by firing a stunner in past the keeper.
The visitors broke away in the final 20 minutes thanks to goals from Juan Brunetta and Maxi Meza, all but slamming the door on any comeback attempts from the MLS All-Stars.
Next up is the commencement of Leagues Cup kicking off this weekend.
