Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario offered an insight into his side’s chances ahead of a crucial matchday with Manchester City in the Premier League.

Speaking to Sky Italia, former Empoli keeper Guglielmo Vicario demanded respect for his current team Tottenham as they head into a vital clash against an indomitable Manchester City. He said: “First of all with respect, above all we have to start from there and we have to have respect for them and for ourselves. Of what we have done up to now, taking the excellent things done and working. I think it is the key word to face this great match that awaits us. But regardless of the opponent we must try not to set limits.”

The 27-year-old was then asked about Spurs’ plan to stop Erling Haaland and how he will be preparing for the match to stop the Norwegian striker from scoring. Vicario said: “This is another good question, it needs no introduction. We know that danger can be created for you in a fraction of a second. He is always there hunting for the moment, for the prey. Yes will analyze as we have always done, with great respect.”

Vicario has been immense for Spurs since joining from Empoli in the summer, having replaced Hugo Lloris very effectively. He has been one of the best goalkeepers in the season so far and for some, his rise has been rather quick at the club and in the Premier League.

Spurs have always had a very good record against City in the past and after a blip in their form, the game allows the Lilywhites to get back to winning ways.
