Ahead of the home game against Union Berlin, head coach Oliver Glasner discussed the jam-packed fixture schedule, the opposition’s strengths and captain Sebastian Rode.

Oliver Glasner on …

... team news: “The good news is that Luca Pellegrini and Christopher Lenz have been able to return. On the whole, the personnel situation is looking good. @A_Toure38 also came back quicker than expected, but now he's picked up an infection. There are a few little knocks from the internationals. Ansgar Knauff has a problem in his ankle. The biggest doubt is Kristijan Jakic, who already had a hip problem before the international break.”

… Sebastian Rode: “I’m pleased to have a fit Sebastian Rode going into this intensive period. That will do us good. He’s made the most of the international break. We want to have our captain and his experience on board. Having said that, we know that he can’t play in all 13 of these matches.”

… opponents Union Berlin: Union Berlibn are a team who have been cleverly put together, have a great coach in Urs Fischer, who gives their play a clear thumbprint. They're very compact and are one of the best counter-attacking teams."

... the busy schedule in the coming weeks: “The most important thing is that we go into this period with a smile on our faces. It’s still Eintracht’s first ever season in the Champions League, which is why we have so many games. The boys are in very good shape, they’re professional and they’re well looked after. We’re also approaching this phase with a lot of enthusiasm. I’ve been told that every home game will be sold out into November, so we’re really looking forward to that. The boys want to play, they want to compete. We’ll get through this period well.”
