Yesterday, pictures emerged of Go Ahead Eagles striker Victor Edvardsen going through his medical with Barnsley. However, despite a loan agreement and purchase option agreed between the clubs for the forward, the Swede has since decided to cancel the move. VI are reporting that this has been done for family reasons and, as a result, the striker will remain with Go Ahead Eagles in the Eredivisie. Edvardsen is under contract in Deventer for the next two seasons.
The 28-year-old has been with the club since 2023, joining for around €700k from Stockholm based side Djurgården. During his time with the Swedish side he played 60 times, scoring 16 goals. His best time had been with the side prior to this, Degefors. In 62 games for Degefors he scored 32 goals and grabbed 16 assists. Last season in the Eredivisie Edvardsen scored seven goals and grabbed two assists in 42 games. He has already made five appearances this season.
