Serge Gnabry tore a muscle fibre in the Champions League clash against FC Arsenal. Thomas Tuchel has now issued a prognosis with regard to a possible comeback. According to this, there is every hope that the winger will be ready to return for the CL clash against Real Madrid.

After months out injured, Serge Gnabry celebrated his comeback at the beginning of March in the 8:1 home win against Mainz 05, where he scored a goal straight away. He also managed two goals and an assist in the following three Bundesliga games before suffering a torn muscle fibre in his thigh in his old home country of London just over a week ago.

Despite the injury, Gnabry is not letting himself down. He was already back in running training on Thursday afternoon. At the press conference before the game against Union Berlin, Thomas Tuchel commented on a possible comeback in the Champions League semi-final: „With Serge Gnabry, it will be a race against time before the first game against Real Madrid. This means he should be ready to return to action for the second game against Los Blancos at the latest.

Frustrating season: Gnabry to leave in the summer?

Although Gnabry has only made 17 competitive appearances in the current season, the 28-year-old does not appear to be making any moves to leave FC Bayern next summer. According to Sky, the Munich club are said to be prepared to accept offers for Gnabry, but a fixed price tag has not yet been set.

Given his estimated salary of €19 million, it will come as no surprise to most that the Stuttgart-born player feels at home in Munich, and not just from a sporting perspective. Gnabry, who is still hoping to be nominated for the European Championships, does not want to sell himself short. He would only be tempted to move if he received an offer of equal sporting and financial value.
