Gleison Bremer to replace injured Marquinhos for Brazil | OneFootball

Juventus defender Gleison Bremer will likely replace Marquinhos in the Brazil squad for their friendly against Morocco, according to Globo.

The Selecao will face the Africans next Saturday but must readjust their roster after a few injuries.

Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos has been struggling with an injury for a while now. He tried to soldier through against Bayern Munich but had to go off early.

The injury will keep the Marquinhos out of the game against the Atlas Lions. Interim coach Ramon Menezes has chosen Bremer to replace him.

It was a surprise that Bremer did not make the initial squad. But they have redeemed themselves by bringing the 26-year-old into the fold.

The former Torino man has been superb for Juventus. He has bagged four goals and an assist in his 29 appearances for the club.

Bremer has helped his side keep nine clean sheets in 22 Serie A appearances while winning 56% of his duels. He has been his side’s best defender this term despite early struggles.

The Bianconeri were poor in the Champions League. They dropped into the Europa League, where Bremer has helped keep three clean sheets in four games. He deserves the call-up to represent his nation.

Brazil also need to find a replacement for Richarlison. The attacker had barely played five minutes when he had to go off in Tottenham Hotspur’s exciting 3-3 draw against Southampton yesterday.

There are several options to replace the attacker. They could call on Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, who is now fit following a lengthy injury lay-off.

However, they could add another new face to the nine players who received their first call-ups to travel to the Tangier Grand Stadium.

Menezes called up several youngsters from the under-20 squad that won the South American Youth Championship last month.

He led rising stars such as Andrey Santos, Vitor Roque, Mykael and Robert Renan to win the title in Colombia.
