Glazers agree to personally pay Man Utd UEFA fines for Super League - as does Kroenke at Arsenal | OneFootball

The Glazers will personally pay the fines handed out to Manchester United for their involvement in the Super League breakaway.

It was confirmed by UEFA that the clubs who were part of the proposed breakaway league would face punishments for their actions, which have today been announced.

Nine of the 12 clubs who founded the failed Super League, excluding Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, will make a combined €15m contribution to benefit children's and grassroots football across Europe.

In addition to this, the nine clubs will lose five percent of their European competition revenue for one season and face fines of €100m (£87m) should they try to form another competition of this kind in the future.

Following this news, it has been announced that Joel Glazer will pay United's portion of the grassroots contribution as well as covering the five per cent revenue deduction. This payment will not come out of club funds.

The Daily Star says same applies to Stan Kroenke at Arsenal, who has agreed to face the financial hit.
