Philipp Max discusses the season run-in, Eintracht's aims and the upcoming game against Bayern Munich.

Philipp Max on ...

... the current mood in the camp: “We had a good, intensive start to training this week. That’s always a good foundation. Obviously we’re feeling really good after the Augsburg game. There was a lot of pressure on that one, but it was pressure we’d brought upon ourselves because we desperately wanted to win. Thankfully, we managed to do that by playing with a great deal of heart and desire. That has to be our standard for the coming weeks.”

... how the team will approach the final few games: “The decisive factors for winning games in the Bundesliga are that everyone pushes themselves to their limit, runs for each other and fights. That’s always the foundation. We’ve learned our lessons and are on the right path. As a group, it’s important to do that together. It’s not always important if you play a good pass; it’s more about giving your team-mates a good feeling. At the end of the day it’s a process that you have to go through. We’re in the middle of that right now. That’s why I’m sure this process will continue and we’ll pick up the points we need. I’m looking forward positively.”

... mentality: “Everyone knows what’s at stake. We’ve got a shared aim of playing in Europe again next season. It’s normal that we demand of ourselves that we win at home. Everyone was frustrated after the draws [against Bremen and Union]. Everyone’s aware of the situation we’re in and wants to progress.”

... the remaining fixtures: “I want us to secure sixth place, but we don’t bother thinking about possible permutations. We played brilliantly against Bayern Munich in the first half of the season, but they’re one of the top four teams in Europe and one of the best in the world. We’ll do everything we can to carry the energy we had in the second half against Augsburg into the Bayern match, and then we’ll see what’s possible. After that we’re playing Leverkusen, and the game against Gladbach won’t be easy either.”
