AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud believes that tonight’s game against Borussia Dortmund is not do-or-die, but is certainly one they could do with winning.

Milan started their Champions League group stage campaign with 0-0 draw at San Siro against Newcastle United in a game that many considered to be the easiest one on paper, but it was a match that they dominated and had the chances to win.

Tonight the Rossoneri face Dortmund who have not lost at home in the Champions League in over two years. At the event that Milan and SNAIFUN held on Monday, Giroud spoke to Sky about the team’s form going into the game.

“We are ready to do well on Wednesday, it won’t be a decisive match but we will have to do well to bring home the victory,” he said (via MilanNews).

“We changed a few things after the derby, we are good and we want to work well. I am helping the team a lot, I am looking for the goal but I also want to do well for the group, if then I score better.”

Giroud is expected to start the game as the centre-forward tonight which shows how important he is to Milan, but at the age of 37 and with a deal that expires at the end of the season there are questions over whether he will renew or leave.

“Future at Milan again next year? Now I’m only thinking about Wednesday, but I’m fine here and we’ll understand what to do in the future.”
