Updates on the wellbeing of Girona pair Yan Couto and Juanpe have this evening come to the fore online.
This comes after the two were forced into premature departures from the club’s group training session on Thursday afternoon.
Speaking in his latest pre-match press conference, Girona head coach Míchel revealed that Couto and Juanpe had been rushed to hospital, owing to a nasty training ground collision:
“Yan Couto and Juanpe had a clash of heads between them and right now they are in the hospital. It looks bad.”
All associated with the Catalans, in turn, had since been awaiting an update on the wellbeing of their side’s stars with bated breath.
And, a short time ago, as much was forthcoming.
As per an official statement across Girona’s website and social media platforms, both Couto and Juanpe, thankfully, have been discharged from hospital.
The latter, however, has come out of the situation much the worse, in line for a two-week spell on the sidelines with a broken nose.
Right-back Couto, on the other hand, is expected to be available to face Las Palmas on Saturday, despite ‘a strong blow and a cut on the eyebrow’.
