América have reportedly given Giovani dos Santos the opportunity to earn a new contract with the side he left last summer.
The 33-year-old has been without a club since his deal with Las Águilas expired in June 2021.
Dos Santos endured a difficult time at the Estadio Azteca, with injury and poor form combining to frustrate both the player and fans.
However TUDN claims that América manager Fernando Ortiz will allow the former Barcelona and Tottenham playmaker to take part in the first team’s pre-season training camp in Cancún.
Dos Santos is said to be in good physical condition, having already worked with the club’s U-20 squad.
If things work out, he will get the chance to play alongside his brother Jonathan dos Santos in the famous Azulcrema jersey.
The pair have previously been team-mates at LA Galaxy and with the Mexico national team.
