Despite being on the wrong end of a controversial decision, Giovanni van Bronckhorst was not offering excuses following Rangers’ 1-1 draw at Aberdeen.

Tuesday marked the first time that Rangers have dropped points thus far under GvB.

Even though the ball clearly moved just before Lewis Ferguson struck his successful penalty, the Dutchman accepted the decision and is already looking forward to their next match.

“Yeah, I saw it (the ball moving). You know, if you don’t have VAR, the decision made by the referee is the decision that counts,” he said after the match.

“If you have VAR and can get every angle, with the case with the long ball and Allan in the first-half, maybe it’s different – I don’t know.

“With the penalty, it’s windy here and we saw the ball moving, maybe with VAR it would be taken over, but it’s the way it is.

“We have to accept the decisions by the referee and move on.”

Rangers currently have a four-point lead at the top of the Premiership table and will host Livingston next Wednesday.
