Gio has a huge Rangers decision over star man

Gio is the genius, the master, the Euro God who has taken the Famous to the cusp of frankly our club’s finest hour ever.

Time will tell if he pulls this miracle off, if the players do, but he has a bit of a dilemma.

Does he start Aaron Ramsey or not?

The Welsh star has been in the press talking about how this final makes up for the Arsenal one he missed through injury in recent years, and how huge an occasion this is, but of course, he’s played only a minimal role in the journey to get to Seville.

84 minutes of appearances in the KO stage (obviously, he joined in January) with just one start does beg the question of whether Gio is going to look at this supposed big-time player and give him the nod for what may be the biggest match in Rangers’ history.

Or does he go with the familiar front four of Kent, Aribo, Kamara and Roofe/Wright/Sakala?

Ramsey hasn’t had the impact he wanted – there are signs of his undoubted class, and he is at times a yard mentally ahead of some of his team mates, but it would be a massive call to start him on Wednesday.

In fairness, most fans seem to be alluding to him as a cameo, as someone to impact off the bench, and that also seems like a wise use of a player who’s maybe not the most reliable physically.

But it is of course in Gio’s hands completely.

Whatever lineup he chooses, we will back 100%, because he’s earned our European trust blindly now. Even if Andy Firth shows up in goal and Cedric Itten starts up front despite staying at home because he’s ineligible, we’ll trust in Gio.

But the Ramsey one is a big call.
