Liverpool will not budge on the terms they last offered Gini Wijnaldum and the Dutchman now needs to decide whether to put pen to paper or try and get a deal he feels is better at a different club.

The future of the midfielder has been one of the big talking points this season from a Reds perspective and at the moment it looks as though the club is not going to be changing its position on the player.

As per the Liverpool Echo, the Reds offered Wijnaldum terms a few months ago that were effectively seen as not good enough by the player and nothing has changed since.

Indeed, the Reds are, reportedly, not going to change their offer from what it was and now it’s up to Wijnaldum to decide whether he’ll sign on anyway or if there is an opportunity for him to head elsewhere.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Liverpool have been pretty firm in negotiations on a number of occasions in recent years and that is what has yielded success so you can perhaps see why they are not willing to veer from that blueprint.

It’ll be a shame to lose Wijnaldum, of course, but it’s probably best to be prepared for that right now.
